An Owl Brings bad luck!!

You may or may not believe this, in my village there was and still is the belief that certain birds, animals or even people bring bad lack. So for instance if you walked and met a certain bird, animal or human being that would mean really bad lack. In particular, there was this dominating believe that an owl always brings bad news and specifically, brings death. It is even worse if an owl stops on the roof top of someone's house as this would definitely mean that someone in the family or extended family would die! Accordingly, these innocent birds remain enemy number one on the village. Although there are all these perceptions, throughout my life, i have never come across hard facts about this superstition. Further still, nobody has ever told me the root of this belief and it appears no one has any clue!! Whatever your belief, i do strongly believe that other living creatures are there to co-exist with us on this large planet called earth and, they do add a non-human dimension that is difficult to explain in mere words. |
